Five addictive iPhone, iPod touch games to play on the go

There are plenty of content-rich, in-depth games for the iPhone that will take you hours to complete, and they’re awesome. Then, there are apps that offer the same amount of depth and gameplay, but in shorter bursts. These apps all require no how-to or learning, just a smart player. If you’ve got five minutes to kill, these games for the iPod touch and iPhone will murder those minutes in no time.
Wild West Pinball
Seller: Gameprom
Compatibility: iPhone and iPod touch
Requirements: iPhone OS 2.2 or later
Price: $0.99
Availability: Now, in the iTunes App Store

Who doesn’t love a good game of pinball? Espically when you don’t have to pay a quarter for each game! I’d certainly be broke if I had to pay. Wild West Pinball has all of the elements you’d expect from a western theme: railroad tracks, a jail, an Indian Village (okay you might not expect that one), a bank robbery operation and more.
If you enjoy this game, I’d also suggest The Deep Pinball, Gameprom’s follow-up to Wild West Pinball.
Blue Block
Seller: Martin Demers
Compatibility: iPhone and iPod touch
Requirements: iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later
Price: $0.99
Availability: Now, in the iTunes App Store (a free version is also available)

Blue Block is a classic game; move one block out of the box by moving the other blocks out of the way. Since the possibility of block positions is virtually unlimited, you could be solving thousands of puzzles (though I’m still stuck on the 4th puzzle). Just to make it complicated for you, there are four versions of this app. Blue Block paid/free and Blue Block Double paid/free. They’re exactly the same, except that the paid versions have an additional 4,465 puzzles!
Fling
Seller: CandyCane LLC
Compatibility: iPhone and iPod touch
Requirements: iPhone OS 2.0 or later
Price: $0.99
Availability: Now, in the iTunes App Store (a free version is also available)

Fling is a game that combines Blue Block with your furriest stuffed animal. The goal is to get rid of all these little adorable furry creatures, by “flinging” one off the board into another. Sounds evil, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
PapiJump Plus
Seller: Yohei Iwasaki
Compatibility: iPhone and iPod touch
Requirements: iPhone OS 2.0 or later
Price: $0.99
Availability: Now, in the iTunes App Store (a free version is also available)

PapiJump is a simple, yet addictive game where you simply have to get the little purple ball to jump high as as possible without falling off the platforms. Sounds boring, but I’ve had a different reaction from just about every girl to whom I’ve shown the game; just pointing that out there, guys.
PapiJump is free, but PapiJump Plus is $0.99 and allows you save your high scores so you can really prove you hit 10,000. Plus also allows you to play a few different variations of the game.
Spikey’s Bounce Around
Seller: Swedish Game Development AB
Compatibility: iPhone and iPod touch
Requirements: iPhone OS 2.2.1 or later
Price: Currently $0.99
Availability: Now, in the iTunes App Store (a free version is also available)

Can you let all of the butterflies out of their jar while collecting as many flowers as possible? Probably not! Out of all of these games, Spikey is the most difficult. But if you’re up for the challenge, you’ll enjoy it.
