According to NDP, Apple has 91% of $1,000+ computer market

While many people look at the overall computer market share numbers and see that Apple has been sitting at around 10% for a while now, there may be a reason for this. It is well known how expensive Macs can be compared to their PC counterparts, but there is a reason for this—and it’s working. There is only one Mac laptop for under $1,000, and Apple seems to be content with that. They don’t want or need to compete in this lower market when they are doing so fantastically in the higher market.

“According to NPD, in June, nine out of 10 dollars spent on computers costing $1,000 or more went to Apple. Mac revenue market share in the “premium” price segment was 91 percent, up from 88 percent in May,” reads the BetaNews report. If you think about it, that is really quite outstanding for a single company. While they aren’t taking the whole market, they are dominating the area where they want to be and are making killer profits while they do it. While they will eventually have to go into a lower market, I’m sure, I don’t see them needing to for a while with numbers like this. Keep it up, Apple.
