A suggestion for the Apple TV
Apple’s billion-apps-sold countdown has gotten me thinking; why can’t I run some of my apps on my Apple TV? Why am I limited to a 3 inch screen for playing fun games? What about Pandora and my NPR Public Radio tuner? Those would sound great on my home theater system, so why is it stuck on my iPhone? The Apple TV has languished a bit, but it has star potential as a central conduit for digital media and apps!
Apple has shown that communication between the Apple TV and WiFi-enabled iPods is possible. The Apple TV hardware is probably not that far away from the iPhone (except for the lack of power consumption constraints). So why couldn’t apps run on the box (unless there is a totally different variant of OS X running the box)? Some obvious features wouldn’t work, as the Apple TV lacks the sensor technologies found in the iPhone. Tilting the Apple TV won’t help you avoid obstacles in Cro-Mag Rally, but it could definitely be used to check informational widgets. Apps like Urban Spon or built-in info widgets like the Stocks can be controlled without touching the screensimple on screen cues can be controlled with the existing Apple TV remote.
More advanced apps could even be configured to get input from a handheld devicethe way that the Remote app uses a WiFi-enabled iPod to control music playback. Connecting iPods with an Apple TV to control apps opens up a whole realm of possibilities. What if I could use my iPod to control a racer in Cro-Mag Rally, with the actual race graphics on my 50” TV screen? Accelerometer data can be transmitted wirelessly; Nintendo demonstrated this with the Bluetooth controllers for the Wii. Come to think of it, why can’t I race my friends (as long as they have an iPod Touch or iPhone)? The forthcoming v3 of the iPhone OS will have discovery capabilities based on Bluetooth, so Apple is already focusing on getting iPhones talking to each other. Why don’t we just open up the party to more devices?
Can you imagine other apps that could bridge the gap between an iPhone and Apple TV?

I just want to have full control over the apple tv via the Remote App.
Sure it let’s you have somethings BUT we have no YouTube control so we have to type on that stupid keyboard. Scrolling through menus would be a breeze.
Apps on the apple tv-even better. But of course somethings would be a little tricky but yeah that’d a LOT of fun to play with or just show off.
