that’s bull…and I hope this gets enough publicity that the company wakes up and realizes that they can’t do this to their customers…
sounds like a money hungry company that only cares about themselves…and it’s sad that is prevalent stance that USA companies take
sorry you had to deal with this crap and good luck in the future
my issue with Sims 3 is that it will not even run on my core duo macbook let alone my sisters iMac G4
this is insane that they would make this program in such a way that most people in the mac community can not even use it
on July 1, 2009 at 01:54 PM - LINKsounds like typical EA at work… :( I want to buy this game as I’ve been a massive fan of the game since the first game but I’m beginning to hate EA as a publisher… I don’t feel like giving them my money :|

on July 15, 2009 at 02:06 PM - LINKin the uk this is ILLEGAL. Purposely reducing or halting resale of tangible items is against the law. Why is no one doing anything about this?
on July 22, 2009 at 06:40 AM - LINKThey can’t do anything about it San. This is a US company. I mean what really can they say? You can still resell it you just can’t go on the website or get updates which you can probably get from another persons site anyway. I’m guessing it was their way of protecting themselves from the pirates without having to use the securom everyone hates so much and thinks hinder their game or makes them unable to play. That’s smart and as I said before they are not a UK governed company.
on July 28, 2009 at 12:57 AM - LINKJust google MATY. It will be the 1st site in the list. Click there & everything you need will be found in the TS3: Apocalypse Now! & Awesomeware sections of the forum. I’m unsure, you might have to register, but its free. Just be sure to read everything & only post if necessary.
on July 28, 2009 at 01:45 AM - LINKI think the main reason EA is making it so difficult is because of pirates. If the same serial can be used more than once, there’s no doubt people who download torrents will use them. Thus, EA loses money. And EA doesn’t like to lose money. XD
Of course there’s the downside, and that’s the buying of used copies. They don’t work, customers get angry, and EA loses a few more supporters. Either way…it’s a lose-lose situation for the company! So they go with the easier route—can’t use the serials twice!
on September 7, 2009 at 12:59 PM - LINKSame here! its bull!!
on September 29, 2009 at 12:10 AM - LINKbecause i wanted to use custom content but caint!!!
because i caint register online!!!
HOpe this company wakes the hell up!
I don’t really know, because it’s just a waste. You buy it, you have to be responsible. You lose it, that’s it, no biggy. When you’ve lost it, you’re buggered. I (or anyone else) can’t help you there, it’s your own game. Look after it yourself. You lose it, blame yourself. I mean, you’re old enough now, aren’t you? You aren’t a pre-schooler now, your a high-schooler, so don’t go whining to you’re mommy.
on October 3, 2009 at 04:57 PM - LINKI bought a used copy of the Sims 3, but not because I wanted to. I went to Computer Exchange and traded in all my old Sims 2 games. I could’ve had cash, but due to where I live, that particular store wouldn’t give it me unless I was 18 ( I was like, one week away, honestly >=[ ) whereas all the other stores gave it at 16. So I had to go for store credit. I figured I may as well get the Sims 3 while I was at it because I’m not into many other games.
on October 29, 2009 at 02:03 PM - LINKI was incredibly lucky because my code wasn’t already registered so I got my points. I was actually quite surprised it wasn’t. I wouldn’t have even bothered attempting to ask EA. Last time I asked a question I didn’t even get a response, and trying to find any useful support on their site is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
yeah I already registered and for some reason when I try to log in it says they don’t have my e-mail adress but then when i try making a new account I can’t because the serial number was used.
on December 27, 2009 at 10:43 PM - LINKSo, thank you.
This sucks. I really don’t want to do all that.
