5G iPods won’t play video, Apple helps
Something went wrong in the Apple iTunes/iPod world, which has created havoc among the 5G iPod user community. Well, not really. However, the old but still loved media player is having some issues. Videos purchased from iTunes simply will not play, which includes any and all type video purchased from Apple’s iTunes store. After several posts on the Apple Discussion forums, the company has decided to look at the issue and hopefully fix it. Well, fixing it meaning a huge update. Apple has reported that a “huge” update will hit sometime soon, which will supposedly fix the issue. Sadly, all 5G users with purchased video can do is wait for this update to be released.

Hmm…Does this apply only to videos purchased in a certain time period? I have a 5G iPod Video and all the videos purchased from the iTunes store work fine. So do all of the video podcasts, which were updated in the last week.
Maybe I just got lucky…
on April 24, 2008 at 08:51 PM - LINKI started having this problem after I downloaded the Version 1.3 update for my Ipod. I think something went wrong with that update and I have no idea of how to go back to version 1.2 now!
on May 14, 2008 at 01:57 AM - LINKMaybe that is why it works for me. When I first got my iPod, I used a PC, so it was PC formatted. Now that I use Mac, I haven’t bothered reformatting it yet, so no updates for me.
