iPhone App Reviews
iPhone Apps. They were great when the App Store was first announced and we could all pick and chose what we wanted, but the number is now overwhelming. Here at Appletell, we'll detail the great iPhone apps we find, and steer you clear from those that aren't worth it even if they're free.
iPhone Game Reviews
As Apple turns the iPhone into one of the most popular gaming devices, the staff of Appletell--gamers and Apple fans alike--are here to help you get the most entertainment value out of your app store purchases.

Wolfram Alpa, a “long-term project to make all systematic knowledge immediately computable by anyone,” recently had their iPhone app accepted by Apple into the App Store. The applicationwhich costs a nicely sized $50is the first native Wolfram Alpha application available through download in the App Store, although the company has had an iPhone dedicated website for a while. It uses the new API the team has recently opened to allow developers to use the knowledge engine in their own applications and software.
While the native application doesn’t appear at first glance to offer much over simply going to the website through Safari, people who have used it claim it is certainly worth the $50 as an educational tool. For instance, both the website and native application can do complex math equations, but the native application allows the user to access a keyboard with symbols and other useful keys for this. That said, they are both using the Internet, as the Wolfram Alpha database is far too large to fit into an iPhone application. Either way, it appears this application is worth the money if it is used for educational and higher math purposes. Otherwise, it is simply a nice demonstration of how powerful this engine is.
