5 useful iPod Touch and iPhone Web Apps
Until the iPhone and iPod Touch SDK is out, we can only rely on web apps. Apple has a Web App directory of 1006, but I’ve narrowed it down to 5 handy applications. No matter what kind of iPhone/iPod Touch user you are, you can make use of at least one of these web apps.
mobiChess
mobiChess is a mobile version of a Chess game that lets you play from anywhere with an internet connection. This fully featured chess game also enables you to play at varying degrees of difficulty on your iPhone or iPod Touch (pending wifi signal), whenever you get bored.

Xbox Live Friends
This web app is a great way to check up on your Xbox 360 gaming friends from almost anywhere. The app doesn’t require your Microsoft Passport Information. As well, you’ll be able to use it as gamer card, display your score and online status for your entire friends list.

Podcaster
The next web app is Podcaster, which enables you to stream audio and video podcasts without needing to sync with iTunes. From the iTunes Store on the iPod Touch and iPhone, you are unable to subscribe to podcasts and stream them. With this app, you can stream audio and video podcasts very fast, even over the EDGE network.

MacLight
This isn’t going to be a revolutionary app a few months from now, but something that may help you from getting lost in the dark. If you’ve ever used your cell phone as a source of light, this app includes 3 modes your bright screen; Flashlight, Strobe light and Campfire.

Free iTunes Direct Download
Free iTunes Direct Download is an app that downloads the Weekly Free iTunes single straight to your iPhone or iPod touch. This may be useful to you as the iTunes Wireless Store doesn’t have the free single of the week.

Nice overview. I also use flytunes for radio on my iphone. I didn’t have to jailbreak my phone to use it and it was free. You can get it at http://www.flytunes.fm.
