iPhone 3G won’t come with a dock, let alone fit the old one
Remember last week when we found out that the iPhone 3G won’t fit the dock that came with the original iPhone? Yeah, well that’s beginning to look even worse. According to the Sidney Herald, the iPhone 3G won’t even come with a dock of its own. This means you are going to have to fork out another $49 for a new iPhone dock, and that’s no fun.
If you do indeed want a dock instead of just using the cable, that will bring the lower model of the iPhone up to $248. This is still less that the first gen iPhone, but you still have to take into consideration the higher data plans. The second gen iPhone is looking more expensive each and every day. Will you still wait in line for the 3G iPhone?

I rarely even ever use the dock…too much hassle to bother getting the case off just to plug it in. As long as there’s a cable in there, I’m fine.

on June 28, 2008 at 07:37 AM - LINKIt is a bit crazy that they are settling to charging for a dock as opposed to including it. I agree that I rarely use my iPhone 2G dock, but come on, just charge more for the phone—don’t nickel and dime people.
