There is a lot of speculation about the details of the suspected 3G iPhone release at Apple’s WWDC keynote. However, there has been little material evidence on which to rely, until now; a reliable source has leaked details of the 3G iPhone’s firmware.
The new firmware, which has possibly been used by carrier partners who are currently testing out the 3G iPhone, has apparently been dissected. Although this is technically a rumor, in looking through the raw data, there is more than enough information about what we can expect in the upcoming 3G iPhone: quad-band GSM support, A-GPS, and tri-band UMTS / HSDPA (which would make the new iPhone(s) 3G-capable in just about every market in the world).
