16 reasons why the iPhone and iPod touch are better than a Sony PSP

iPhone vs. PSP
OS X Reality put up a fairly interesting article listing 16 reasons why the iPhone and iPod touch are better systems to have around than the Sony PSP. I’ve never played with a PSP, so I’m afraid I can’t vouch for any of the items on the list. In typical fashion, though, it seems some are valid…

6. No storage space on the PSP, cost of PSP + Memory Stick = more than iPod Touch.

...some are stretches…

12. News Flash: ACME now using PSPs to build houses due to brick shortages.

...and some are a bit misleading…

16. John Carmack knows best - “…more powerful than a Nintendo DS and PSP combined.”

Cost, I get, but just because the PSP is larger than the iPhone, that doesn’t make it a “brick.” And is the iPhone really more powerfual than a DS and PSP combined, or are we all just taking Carmack at his word because his is one of about three game developer names we bothered to memorize? Even if the iPhone is that powerful, it won’t do us any good if developers don’t take advantage of the power (and regarding games, not many have thus far).

But, the article is an interesting read with some good points, and it’s something to keep handy as the holiday shopping season approaches.
