Urban Spoon app adds Augmented Reality to help you scope out a place to eat
We first told you last year all about the UrbanSpoon iPhone app, which allows you to find a restaurant by shaking your phone. Now, the developers have upgraded the app to help you find a way to chow down by adding a new Scope feature. This feature is an augmented reality app, and is exclusive to the iPhone 3GS. All you have to do is aim your iPhone at the street to see what is out there to eat.
App it Up: The Fright Factory
Just in time for the haunting season comes this app that offers up plenty of scares. It has creepy sound effects, an instant haunted house, and optical illusions. With The Fright Factory, it is almost like having three apps in one. While it’s not something you are going to sit in the office and play (well…unless you work for the Addams Family), it could cause a bit of a laugh on your part when you use it to try to scare someone.
iPhone Porn: “Yeah, we’ve got an app for that” [updated]
Cover your eyes, kiddies, because Apple has opened Pandora’s Box on iTunes. With the new parental controls feature built into the iPhone 3.0 SDK, Apple seems to have decided that they can go beyond risque to actual nudity in their apps. The first app to bare it all is called “Hottest Girls.” Although the app has been around for a while now, it used to be just a bunch of Asian girls in lingerie. Now, you’ve got topless and completely naked women…
App it Up: Kooaba
Kooaba is an app that works with the iPhone, any Android phone, or even plain old phones that support MMS. You can also use it on the web. You take a photo of a particular product, and it gives you all kinds of information and links about the item. You snap a shot of different things in the entertainment field: CDs, DVDs, Games, or even a movie poster. You send it to kooaba, either through the app or through text. It will then send you back a link with more information about that item; where you can buy it, and so on.
App it Up: Hide a Caller Pro with Private Photo
Hide a Caller Pro is an app that allows you to be all stealthy-like. Well, maybe the correct word is sneaky. We all love the convenience of being able to see who is calling us. That way, we can decide if we want to actually talk to them. However, for those who like that convenience but don’t especially want others who may be looking to know who is calling, Hide a Caller Pro solves that dilemma.
