Online Apple Store is down - just maintenance?
It seems that once again the online Apple Store is down, on a Sunday too. Since it’s only a few weeks since Apple’s latest media event, it’s unlikely that any product updates will appear - it’s more plausible to simply be maintenance updates. Still, the Apple TV has seen slight changes recently…
The iPod shuffle - now in color
Today’s music-themed event from Apple saw various updates to the iPod touch, iPod nano and also the iPod classic. While the iPod shuffle didn’t receive much attention on stage, it’s worth mentioning the very slight additions that it did gain: colors. Five of them to be precise.
Apple releases iTunes 9 [Update: now available.]
Apple has just released the latest version of iTunes at the September 9th event in San Francisco. iTunes 9 has some new welcome features, including the ability to organize your iPhone and iPod touch applications within iTunes to sync across to your device.
Apple updates iPod nano, now with a video camera
We all kind of saw it coming, and now Apple has made it a reality; the iPod nano now sports a video camera. That’s not all, though; there’s now also a speaker and microphone, along with a built-in pedometer and refreshed vibrant gloss colors. Apple apparently wanted in on the portable video camera market, alongside the FlipMino’s camera. For this reason, the iPod nano has gained it’s own video camera in the exact place where rumors suggested some time ago.
Apple updates the iPod classic
The iPod classic managed to get a mention on stage at today’s Apple event, while nothing really happened to the device itself. The only news to report are the memory boosts and price reductions. The current 120GB model is being upgrade to 160GB for the same previous price: $249. Nothing major here, but another nice update all the same.
iPhone OS 3.1 available today [update]
Steve Jobs has just announced the latest software upgrade available today for the iPhone and iPod touchiPhone OS 3.1featuring new options for Genius in the App Store, and also over 30,000 ringtones available for download for just $1.29.
Apple updates iPod touch
Apple has just released a few updates to the ever-popular iPod touch at the music-themed press event in San Francisco. While the device itself has stayed the same, the price has dropped and the memory has expanded.
Steve Jobs is back!
The lights had only just dimmed as the most exciting part of the press conference happened; Steve Jobs walked onto the stage to huge cheers and applause, looking fit and healthy. Wearing his trademark black turtleneck top and jeans, he expressed his gratitude towards the team at Apple and everyone’s continued support during his health leave.
Apple’s September 9th event: rumor round-up
As many of you will be aware, Apple is hosting a music themed event in San Francisco on September 9th. The tagline on the invitations reads “It’s only rock and roll, but we like it,” which certainly suggests music will play an important role in the keynote. While there are certainly rumors surrounding an update to the iPod line, there are also many other rumors that have been circulating the Internet, so here’s a round-up of all the possibilities we could see from Apple tomorrow.
