Apple releases iTunes 7.2 with iTunes Plus
Apple has released iTunes 7.2 which is available through Software Update. It includes the new iTunes Plus feature which allows you to purchase, and upgrade music to a DRM-Free style with higher quality.
Although, at this moment the iTunes store does not have a lot of DRM-Free content available. Steve Jobs made the announcement of more DRM-Free tracks being available in the store at the “D: All Things Digital” conference the other day, possibly up to half the music in there will be DRM-Free eventually, hopefully all someday. The new DRM-free tracks will cost $1.29 compared to the locked DRM tracks at $0.99, but give you that DRM-Free goodness as well as a bit more quality over the $0.99 tracks.
If you’ve already purchased a track for $0.99 and the DRM-Free version is available, there is no need to re-purchase the song. With iTunes Plus you can easily update your tracks to DRM-Free tracks for only $0.30.

YouTube for Apple TV

At the fifth D: All Things Digital event, Steve Jobs revealed a software upgrade to the Apple TV that would allow customers to access YouTube’s thousands of clips through a wireless internet collection. You would not access the clips directly from YouTube, instead a team would host the videos in an Apple TV format, available for anyone to view. Users will be able to log in to their YouTube accounts, add favorites and use other features of the popular video-sharing site.
The video quality will be exactly the same as the ones on YouTube’s site which means the videos through an HDTV will be similar as to on your computer. There is a quality issue when watching very low quality content on a TV or display with a high resolution. Though, as Steve mentioned, people are finding ways to upload better content everyday. The update will be available in mid-June with only selected clips (i.e. Featured videos), with the whole YouTube library being available in the fall.

Related2nd Generation iPhone production deal in place?
Even before the first generation iPhone has been released, we are already hearing about the 2nd Generation iPhone. Quanta Computer has apparently landed a deal allowing them to produce the second iPhone. The new, new iPhone is said to have a new outer design, with more features inside. However, this is not certain as some think that the deal will go to the current supplier, Foxconn. This seems like a far-fetched rumor as Apple has not even seen if the first iPhone will be a success, though they probably have a good idea of it’s outcome, I highly doubt they would go straight to another manufacturer for the second version. The 1st gen iPhone is expected to be released on June 20th.
