Retro gaming has been popular for quite some time, and it shows no signs of slowing down. My favorite classic system is the Intellivison, and I’ve tried the various repackaged versions on the Mac, GameCube, online, etc, but found them all to be a bit flat. The developers over at Intellivision Lives keep looking at new distribution methods, however, and they now have their sites set on the iPhone.

  • Free Apps roundup for November 20th, 2009

This week I found a few apps to help you not get work done around Thanksgiving, unless “work” for you means shopping for holiday gifts.

  • History of Apple [video]

There’s plenty of nostalgia to be found here. Sure, there’s “1984,” but how can you not love seeing those spinning, candy-like iMacs again? Even “Myst” makes a cameo.

by Josh Holat on Nov 10, 2009 at 11:20 AM

That time of year is coming up again, as we approach Macworld Expo 2010 from February 9th through the 13th. And yes, while it’s sad that Apple won’t be appearing this year, you might also be surprised to hear who else isn’t showing up. Despite IDG mentioning HP, Microsoft, FastMac,… Continue Reading »

by Jake Gaecke on Nov 9, 2009 at 11:01 PM

The best GPS app on iPhone just got a little bit better. Navigon’s MobileNavigator is already an amazing GPS routing app with its voice prompted directions, smoothly animated maps and excellent everything-I-can-think-of, but Today they’ve added Traffic Live for North America. Continue Reading »

App it Up: Yoritsuki

by Kirk Hiner on Nov 9, 2009 at 08:24 AM

I’m guessing there are few locations where the view from a hotel window could be an app, but it works with Yoritsuki. It’s beautifully designed; easily one of the all-around best looking apps I’ve ever tried, with graphics that make me wish my iPhone screen was four times larger. Yoritsuki… Continue Reading »

If you’ve thought about buying gifts from Apple this festive season, you’ll be happy to hear of the elegant gift… Continue Reading »

Droid appearing on Google and causing lines, what about iPhone?

by Josh Holat on Nov 7, 2009 at 10:04 AM

The day of the Droid came and left with relatively little press coverage compared to what we’ve seen from the iPhone in previous launches. However, that isn’t to say the Droid isn’t receiving its fair share of publicity, and for good reason. While I haven’t personally gotten my hands on… Continue Reading »

An open letter to the Verizon “There’s a Map for That” ads

by Aaron Kraus on Nov 2, 2009 at 08:28 PM

First, let me congratulate you on a fairly witty pun-based ad campaign. You’re making a point, and with quite a bit of gumption, given the lack of cool smartphones available on your larger-than-life network. Second, I’ll acknowledge our past relationship; nine good years with excellent coverage and several fairly decent… Continue Reading »
