Appletell Review - DLO HipCase for iPod nano 3G
My first iPod was a 30GB iPod Video. I wasn’t exactly careful with it, and it soon became heavily scratched. I also never got around to getting a case. Now that that iPod has come and gone, and I am on my second iPod, I made a pact to treat it well, and get a case early on. After getting my iPod nano 3G about a month ago, I got a little lax about the case and didn’t purchase one until now. After much personal debate, I went with the Digital Lifestyle Outfitters HipCase over the Speck Runner. There were a few reasons why I went with the former, ranging from better feel, and what hopefully will be better protection.
Read on for the full review and product images.
Appletell review - nano Case Value Pack and iSkin DuoBand for iPod nano 3G
It’s safe to assume at this point that we’ll be seeing the 4G iPod nano at the September Apple event next week. And, with new iPods comes the inevitable flood of new iPod cases, leaving owners of the previous model behind. 3G iPod nano owners need not despair, however, as there’ll certainly be no shortage of cases available to them for quite some time.
After the break, we’ll take a look at two armband-style nano cases: Gadget Wrap’s nano Case Value Pack and the iSkin DuoBand.
Found - Hama iPod nano 4G cases
On the floor of the IFA, Engadget Spanish discovered a certain iPod case that seems to prove those Kevin Rose rumors. Looks like the Dark Tipper wasn’t lying after all. On a massive wall with thousands upon thousands of iPod accessories, a single case from Hama, a British company, was pecked out. The case says “For iPod nano 4G” (pictured above), and if a real item is a fake, then somebody really put a lot of money into pulling a prank on the iPod-loving community. It carries the rounded shape that was predicted by Mr. Digg, and seems to fit the dimensions shown in other iPod nano document that have been released.
From the information we received from Kevin Rose, and now this, a new iPod nano is all but confirmed. However, especially with Apple, the minor details are always still in the air, so check back here for more as it happens, especially on (the rumored d-day) September 9th.
Check out another pic after the jump.
More evidence for the Kevin Rose iPod nano rumors
Last week, we reported on some rumors via Digg’s Kevin Rose about a possible iPod Nano redesign. MacRumors is providing some more evidence for that rumor with some pics and details from a semi-reliable Chinese website.
The website, iDealsChina, has been right before. They leaked the case redesign for the iPhone 3G. This time, they are claiming they have leaked 3D renderings of a possible 4th generation iPod Nano redesign. At right, you can see one of these 3D renders.
Details and a juicy iPod touch rumor after the break.
